Kitties and Liz

Liz

I grew up in a city and married a fellow who grew up and continues to live in a rural environment. We are unable to have children because of medical complications with me, but I have my animal family surrounding me at all times! We have Fluffums who is my special girl. She is a calico kitty who almost drowned last year while just a baby. Pueblo is her sister and is very attentive to me. Their dad, Quesidilla is huge ginger cat who is very laid back. Binky is a male tabby and is the most intuitive of the cats; he always comes to me when I'm upset or sad and he seems to really empathize with me. All of "the kids" have their own personality and it always makes me forget my daily struggles at work.
Recently we acquired Liz the Iguana. She fits right in, as she is pretty much a scaly cat! She loves to be petted and talked to. She seems to be very warm (despite being cold-blooded) and sociable. We have really enjoyed having her added to our family!
She climbs up on things and loves to watch me do the dishes and bask in the sunlight!

Andrea, I LOVE this pic of Liz! How adorable... her basking in the sun... drying out with the silverware. LOL. Childbirth (and the superwomen who do it) is a miracle and wonder that I have the utmost respect for, but it's not the only way to experience High Creativity or even Maternal Love. I don't have children either and, like you, I find my relationships with all life-forms (2-legged, 4-legged, winged, rooted, etc.) puts me in touch with a big, expansive peace and joy.

You and your family are a DELIGHT! Thanks for sharing a part of it with us here, Andrea.

Affectionately,
Erika
